FOSRENOL®: First-line Phosphorus Control Begins With the Starting Dose
Most patients can be started on FOSRENOL® with a daily dose of 750 to 1500 mg, which is then divided and taken with meals. The dose should be adjusted every 2 to 3 weeks until an acceptable serum phosphorus goal is reached, and monitored on a regular basis thereafter.
When Should Patients Take FOSRENOL®?
- FOSRENOL® must be taken during or immediately after meals
- FOSRENOL® tablets should never be taken on an empty stomach
How Should Patients Take FOSRENOL®?
- FOSRENOL® tablets should be chewed completely before swallowing
- FOSRENOL® tablets should never be swallowed whole
- FOSRENOL® chewable tablets may be taken with or without water
*Dosing based on 3 meals per day. Number of meals per day may vary. To achieve certain doses, additional tablets may be required.
