How To Take FOSRENOL®
FOSRENOL® is a convenient way to treat your phosphorus levels
because:

It requires as few as 3 chewable-only tablets per day.*

It can be taken without water.

A chewable-only tablet, FOSRENOL® should not be taken on an empty stomach; take during or immediately after, meals.

Chew tablets completely before swallowing. Intact tablets should not
be swallowed.

Available in 250-mg, 500-mg, 750-mg and 1-g tablets.
The starting dose of FOSRENOL® is usually a 250- to 500-mg chewable
tablet with each meal, every day. This dosage may be adjusted as your physician
finds the right one for you.
Depending on the dosage your doctor prescribes, you may be taking as few as
3 tablets of FOSRENOL® per
day.* Your doctor will monitor your phosphorus levels and let you know if it is
necessary to change your dose. Most patients require 2.25 g – 3 g per day to control their phosphorus levels.
Combined with a low-phosphorus diet, FOSRENOL® may help control your
phosphorus levels.
The most common adverse events were gastrointestinal, such as nausea and
vomiting, and generally went away over time with continued dosing.
*Dosing based on three meals per day. Number of meals per day may vary. To achieve certain doses, additional tablets may be required.
